"It's part of the training, to make your own," Ren explains. "When you reach a certain point as an apprentice, you make your own lightsaber and begin to fight with it. Before that point, you use someone else's or use sticks."

He laughs a little, the memory almost fond for once. "My uncle was very fond of the sticks."
